How to Know God

The Creator of the universe made you wonderfully and miraculously. God designed you to experience life with Him. But we have all abandoned His design to experience life on our own. If we're honest with ourselves, we know that living life our own way has led us nowhere that we want to be. Today, you can change your path. Today, you can know who God is, how to be reconnected with Him, and how to walk out the rest of your life in the plan and the purpose that He created you for.

The Creator of the universe and the God of the Bible existed before time began. He is all-powerful, all-knowing, and always present. He is so powerful that He spoke the universe into existence. More importantly, though, the Bible says that God IS love and that God IS good. He isn't just a good God who is loving. Love and Goodness exist because they are attributes of the everlasting God.

You are no accident. It is not a mistake that you were born on this Earth. God knew who you were before He formed the world. The Bible tells us that in all of God's creation, we are His focus. The Maker of the Stars designed us to live life with Him. You were made with, and for, a purpose. You are no accident. It is not a mistake that you were born on this Earth. God knows you and knew who you were before the world was formed. The same God who created the stars, our world, and everything in it designed you and I specifically to live life with Him. You were made with a purpose.

No one needs to tell you that humanity has a problem. We see the state of the world; we know what a mess we've made of our own lives. The Bible calls our problem sin. Sin is a rejection of God and His plan. Because God IS good, rejecting Him means rejecting His goodness. Without goodness, we commit terrible acts against ourselves, others, and the rest of God's creation. The Bible says that God is the judge of His creation and, like a good judge, needs to deal with our sins. Our debt is so heavy that only God Himself could pay it.

God desperately wants you to be with Him. He's so in love with you that He sent His perfect Son to pay the debt that we owed. All of it. Forever. At no cost to you. Jesus was born of a virgin, walked on Earth for a short time, allowed Himself to be beaten and crucified on a cross, and then rose from the grave three days later in order to make a way for us to reconnect with God. The only thing that is left for us to do is to accept God's gift. We just have to accept what Jesus did on the cross. We just have to believe that God loves us, that He sent His Son to pay our price, and that we can have a relationship with Him. And then we just have to ask Him for that life.

Do you want a relationship with God, believe that He sent Jesus to die for you, and want Jesus to be your Lord and Savior? Your new life starts by believing God and confessing your beliefs. Start by praying the following the prayer out loud.

Father God, I come to you today in Jesus' name. I give you all of my heart and all of my life. Come in to my heart and be the Lord and Savior of my life. Forgive me of my sin, cleanse me of my past, and give me a future with you, Lord. I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. That He came, that He died, and that He was raised again to life just for me. Fill me now with your Holy Spirit. And let it be known that from this day on, I am a Christian. I am saved, I'm headed for heaven, and denying my presence in hell. Teach me your ways so that I can walk in them. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.
