I don’t want you to forget, dear brothers and sisters, about our ancestors in the wilderness long ago. All of them were guided by a cloud that moved ahead of them, and all of them walked through the sea on dry ground. —1 Corinthians 10:1 NLT
How quickly we forget. As we face each new trial in our lives we need to remember how God brought us through the last one. Chances are you probably cannot even remember what you were so stressed about last year, or the year before. God doesn’t leave us in the valley of the shadow of death. He walks beside us as we pass through it. We see the valley and start getting in fear, and even attempt to camp out there and have a pity party. Everything we face in this world is temporary. Everything that tries to block the path that God’s called us to walk on, can be moved. Everything that threatens to hurt you, your family, or your health, can be conquered, because the greater one lives in you. Don’t forget that this too will pass. For everything there’s a season. Don’t forget that just as he guided the Israelites and fed them in the wilderness he will provide for you. Our God shows no favoritism!
